Plenty of grub for your belly and virgin ale for your spirits. Come as a gentleman, dirty pirate, Lady, wench or any combination of those, and enjoy the seas and possibly win some booty. Arrr!
This meeting will be held at Paddles, located at 250 West 26th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues, basement floor.
As usual, party attendance costs $25 for members of TES and other BDSM/leather organizations (including Conversio Virium!) and $35 for non-members. If you attend the TES-TNG meeting beforehand then you can stay for the party for only an additional $20.
(Do you know of an event that you don’t see on our calendar and want to share? Please send it in!)

Apologizes for the confusion regarding the location of our munch last week. Apparently, a photography group meets on the second Monday of each month, and they have been meeting there for a while. So, we relocated to the Moonstruck diner on 9th Ave., two blocks directly west of Malibu diner. It’ll likely be our alternate diner in case we need to relocate again for whatever reason (and we’ll probably go there again on August 11).
I love meeting new people, and it seems like I have every time! If you haven’t come yet, we encourage you to release your inhibitions!

Then she will demonstrate booted domination with pain and mindfuck. Enjoy!

IRWAG Conference: What is Feminist Politics Now? Local and Global
Published on July 13, 2008 at 6:44 PM by Courtney | Filed under CV Announcements, Calendar Events | No Comments| September 19, 2008 | to | September 20, 2008 |
It’s a little early to be thinking about the coming school year, but the Institute for Research on Women and Gender (IRWAG) is holding a conference September 19th and 20th that may be of interest to many of you. Famed writers on sexuality, BDSM and queer issues Pat Califia and Dorothy Allison, among many others, will be speaking at the conference on various issues of feminism.
The conference will explore:
- The changing meanings of feminism, and its goals (intellectual, social and political) in a global context: to examine whether these meanings can any longer be contained within the rubric of common social agendas.
- Emerging social movements within the United States and beyond, including those that foster the collective interests of women across national, class, religious, and racial borders; the common interests of women and men; and those that call for greater individual autonomy.
- Questions about how women within the post-industrial west can effectively relate to, and remain engaged with, issues that arise from diverse locations and affect differently situated women in different ways.
Visit the IRWAG website for more information on the conference itself and how to register.

Come march in the Heritage of Pride Parade (formerly known as the Gay Pride Parade) this Sunday, June 29th, starting at noon! The march is from 5th Ave. & 52nd St. to Christopher & Greenwich St.
From the Heritage of Pride website:
The March began as an annual civil rights demonstration beginning the year after the Stonewall Riots in 1970. Over the years its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS and to remember those we have lost to the illness, violence and neglect. It has also evolved to include being a celebration of our lives and our community.

Folsom Street East XII
Published on June 18, 2008 at 6:49 PM by Kenneth | Filed under Calendar Events, Unaffiliated Events | No Comments| June 22, 2008 |
Folsom Street East is coming this Sunday! From the Folsom Street East website:
Folsom Street East, New York’s premiere s/m-leather-fetish themed street festival, will hit the streets of Manhattan from 2 to 8pm on June 22. Produced by Gay Male S/M Activists (GMSMA), Folsom Street East is the largest outdoor event of its kind on the East Coast, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors. Folsom Street East takes place in New York City on West 28th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues.
Performances already scheduled this year will feature indie rocker Bob Mould, Sylvia Tosun, Fredrick Ford, Trai La Trash, and The Imperial Court. Porn producer extraordinaire Chi Chi LaRue will serve as emcee.
The street will once again be lined with some 50 community groups and vendors that appeal to the LGBT and the kink communities. A one-stop shop for leather gear, porn, and toys. And no throw pillow, magic mops, or tube socks – promise!
And given that this is all part of leather pride weekend, check out the other events section and see what other filthy fun is in store.
Suggested donation is $10.
Some background information about Folsom Street East from their website:
GMSMA held the first Folsom Street East in 1997. Named after the famous Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco, the block party was an instant success, bringing our S/M-Leather-Fetish brothers and sisters together for a great celebration, while raising money to support worthy causes. Over the past 11 years, the success of FSE has enabled GMSMA to donate more than $250,000 to support organizations such as The LGBT Community Center, the NYC Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project (AVP), and the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF).

As Leather Pride gets into full swing this June, LSM will be having a very special demo on Flogging, presented by one of their own co-founders Jo Arnone. If you plan on attending, remember to present your CV membership card for a discount! For more information about Jo Arnone and this demo, please read below:
LSM is pleased to present special guest Jo Arnone, co-founder of the Lesbian Sex Mafia, to take us through the painful pleasures of flogging. From the soft caress of deerskin, the sharp sting of a braided cat or the heavy thud of flat tails, a flogging can be sensual, erotic or simply a painful experience. Learn the proper techniques, safety, equipment and the fun of it all. Bring your whips, if you have any. There will be a few available to try as well.
Location: Room 410 at the LGBT Center in Manhattan, 208 West 13th Street. Admission is only $5 for LSM Members, $10 for non-members — and you’ll want to get there early as we expect the room to fill fast.
Jo Arnone has been a member of the NY Leather Community since it’s earliest years and has been teaching flogging to willing audiences for even longer. She is a Co-Founder of LSM and has been the Leather Pride Night Auctioneer for nearly 25 years. During that time she has donated her auctioneering talents to over 150 events all across the United States helping to raise over one million dollars for worthy charities including In the Life, Whitman Walker Clinic, God’s Love We Deliver, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS, and Bucks County Community Services.
