CV Meeting: Booted Domination

Join us for the last official meeting of the semester! Avivokhai will discuss usual boot kink, pain, and kicking, as well as methods of femme style domination with boots, especially forms that are creative but non-painful. Demonstration will be “pretty and flexible”.

On a personal note: Avivokhai introduced me to Conversio Virium and her legs have captivated me since freshman year. I can’t think of a more suitable ending to my time as an administrator. Drop in and say goodbye before our graduation!

CV Meeting: Pushing the Limits of Sane in SSC with Blaise Part 2

Safe, Sane and Consensual is the motto of many BDSM educators and organizations including CV. Sanity, however, is one category which is especially subjective. Blaise will lead a discussion about substances and how their use pushes the limits of SSC in a scene.

CV Elections! Decision 2008!

All members (valid CU-affiliates) are requested to come to this meeting to nominate, run and vote. As always, every CV executive board is up for re-election, which means we have four positions that need filling by current CU undergrads (who expect to be enrolled until at least 2009). These positions are as follows:

President: Generally runs meetings, sets up programming each week with the help of the VP, public relations representative, and handles official correspondence.

Vice-President: Handles membership cards and records, handles correspondence, plans weekly programs with Pres., gets the nifty title of “President of Vice,” fills in any gaps as needed.

Treasurer: Handles all finances, must be especially responsible, reliable and expect to attend meetings regularly, handles refreshments.

Secretary: Sends out [witty] weekly emails, posts events and meetings to the website, helps out in any other way needed by the board.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, or even if you don’t, WE WANT YOU to help run Conversio Virium next year. Remember, this is great experience if you are thinking of going into event planning, public relations, or anything that requires a cool head, and strong organizational skills.

CV Meeting: BDSM E.R. with Sir Guy

Join us in 303 Hamilton for a very important presentation. Sir Guy is a dominant uniform fetishist, a NYS certified emergency medical technician, and a trainer of EMS personnel. His presentation on BDSM E.R. is a must see:

CV Meeting: TES-TiNG Takeover! Panel Discussion on Youth and Leadership in the Scene

Come one, come all to 303 Hamilton for a panel discussion, moderated by Blaise. TES-TiNG, TES’s group for young adults, aged 35 and under, will be dropping by for a visit. Together, we will tackle questions of purpose and identity. Why are young adults a special interest group? What can we offer? Where can we improve? Why did I choose head a BDSM Education Group when I should have been studying for my GREs? In what ways are Conversio Virium and TES-TiNG important to the wider BDSM community?

CV Meeting: Dirty Sexy Money with Calico

Sex and money are a potent combination. From prostitution to financial domination, stripping to pornography, and mistresses to sugar daddies, the sex trade is rich with power, paradox and archetype. We’ll discuss venues for experimentation, risks and rewards—including how to indulge your fantasies without throwing away your partner, Columbia education, or a clean bill of health. In addition we will also be creating Membership Cards at the beginning of the meeting for any and all eligible persons who do not already have one.

Ethics are guaranteed to make your kink life, relationships, and fuck ups much more complex and interesting. In this rollicking interactive extravaganza, Jay and Corey will offer you a starter pack of our Super Secret Universal Four Pillars of the House of Kink Ethics*. We will also give you the tools to build your own system of kink ethics. It won’t protect you from heartbreak or herpes but it can help you maintain your integrity.

CV Special Event: Erotic Breathwork with Barbara Carrellas

Some of the CV crew met Barbara at Floating World this summer. I was fascinated by her unique classes and by a spiritual side of sexuality I had not considered before. She has kindly agreed to grace us with her presence and expertise in erotic breathing.

Here is Barbara’s description of the workshop:

Breath is your greatest source of energy and aliveness. It can produce so much pleasure, it will amaze you. Once you become familiar with moving erotic energy around with your breath, you’ll find all your erotic encounters to be much more fulfilling. Your orgasms will be longer and deeper. In this workshop we will learn and practice a variety of simple breath techniques that you can put together to to create unlimited erotic possibilities. Finally, we’ll practice energy orgasm techniques that you’ll be able to incorporate into whatever kind of sex and play you enjoy.

Playing with Sex Toys with Maymay

With Halloween behind us, we’re now only weeks away from the Winter Holiday season, but it’s already getting quite cold! This Monday, grab a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and come out to CV, where maymay will be presenting Playing with Sex Toys, a topic that is sure to warm you up more than your drink!

Very simply, BDSM can be considered a superset of sex, so it makes sense that just about everything you know about having sex can be applied to having kinky sex, too. With this in mind, let’s take a few moments and turn our attentions to those seemingly innocent, common-place sex toys that everyone, kinky and vanilla alike, delight in. What can they do, and—more interestingly—how can we use them for the kinds of kinky sex we like to have? In this presentation, maymay will cover the (obligatory and very handy) basics of sex toy safety and then quickly move on to the less mundane, with a focus on incorporating traditional BDSM activities such as bondage and impact play with sex toys.

Maymay also writes sex toy reviews for EdenFantasys, and occasionally also on his blog. He’ll also be bringing a bunch of various toys to showcase, so expect to see a lot of fun and interesting anal toys. In fact, why not bring in some of your own to show off, too?

CV Meeting: Sexy Halloween Fright-Fest

Join us this week for a Halloween party in which we invite you to bring your best in BDSM erotic literature, and/or scary stories. We’ll gather around an imaginary campfire in 301 Hamilton and see who can deliver the most thrilling, heart-stopping tale of horror and raunch. Dress in costume, or spooky old everyday clothes, whichever you like. Come a little early if you’d like to help us create some Halloween ambiance.
