Volunteering for CV
Conversio Virium is a solely volunteer-run organization. Volunteers generously offer their time and hard work to promote CV and help realize its goals. There are a number of available avenues by which you can volunteer for CV.
Present at CV
If you’d like to be a presenter at a future Conversio Virium meeting and share some of your knowledge and experiences with the community please take a look at our guidelines for presenters.
Participate in CV Governance
If you are eligible, you can run for election to Conversio Virium’s Executive Board. You can also volunteer to support any of CV’s special committees that may be of interest to you.
Become a Contributing Writer
If you’d like to become a contributor to the Conversio Virium blog, you can request Contributor status for your free CV web site account and begin to submit written op-ed pieces for our editors to review. Before you do this, however, please familiarize yourself with our submission guidelines.
We also encourage every registered user to submit comments on any blog post at any time. Submitting comments does not require any special status whatsoever.
Contribute to the Public Calendar
In addition to contributing to CV’s blog, you can also contribute to CV’s public calendar and event listings. You don’t have to be the organizer of an event in order to submit it for inclusion on the shared calendar, though we obviously appreciate submissions from event organizers, facilitators, and organization directors as well. All you need to do is request Contributor status for your registered account and then follow the instructions you receive via email.
Contribute to Technical Development Efforts
If you’d like to help improve the CV web site or any other parts of our technical infrastructure, there are many things you can do—and you don’t have to be a computer whiz-kid or even that technically-savvy at all to do it. Help can come in the form of bug reports (contact us to let us know something’s not working properly for you), as well as new ideas for major or minor features, tweaks, corrections, or improvements, or it can also take the form of submitting patches to actually fix bugs.
For more information about how to contribute to Conversio Virium’s technical development, see our Trac instance.
Other Ways to Volunteer
There are myriad other ways to volunteer for Conversio Virium, some of which we’re sure we haven’t even thought of yet! If you’re passionate about helping to create a safe space for area youngsters and college students to explore BDSM and alternative sexual lifestyles, please contact us and share some of your ideas or even just your enthusiasm.
