Article VII: Other Committees

Section 1

The full membership shall elect both permanent and temporary committee chairs in addition to the Executive Board.

Section 2

Permanent chairs shall coordinate group members and/or volunteers to organize ongoing projects such as publicity.

Section 3

Temporary chairs shall coordinate group members and/or volunteers to arrange short term projects like speakers, fund-raisers, and other such events.

Section 4

All sub-committees will report to the Executive Board.

Section 5

Committee chairs shall serve as long as is required by their duties, to be determined by the Executive Board, or for one year, whichever is shorter.

Section 6

Committee chairs can be impeached and removed from office for

  • violation of the rules set ouf by ABC and/or SGA
  • misappropriation of funds
  • failure to perform the duties set out in Sections 1 through 5, above.

Section 7

A motion to impeach a committee chair may be brought by anyone at any regular meeting. A two-thirds majority of the full membership, or the unanimous consent of the Executive Board, is required to impeach and remove a committee chair. The decision of the Executive Board can be overruled by a two-thirds majority of the full membership.

Section 8

In the event of a mid-term vacancy of an elected committee chair, a mid-term election will be held, following normal procedure, to fill the vacancy. The replacement chair will serve out the remainder of the term.
