Amendments to the Constitution

Before the beginning of the semester, the Executive Board will be preparing all 2007 amendments to our club’s constitution. Anyone who is eligible for or currently holds full membership will be able to propose changes and vote to ratify said changes.

Please take some time to read through our constitution, which was last edited in 2002. Remember that if you have already signed a membership statement, you have agreed to uphold this document, so it might be a good idea to know what it says. This especially applies to the Articles regarding Meeting Conduct and Membership.

Some of the changes we are hoping to make this academic year will make the rules of membership clearer and to include the website administration as a special committee, as well as to provide provisions for web conduct and official recognition of the important work being done on the site. We want to expand the confidentiality clause to specifically address members of the media. We would also like to conduct a deadwood check so that we can destroy old member documents as per Article IV Section 1.7 and Section 3.  All of these changes are intended to help our club run more smoothly and to further protect the confidentiality of our members and meeting attendees. Please comment here with your thoughts, as members have the authority to propose or oppose any changes to this document.

Summer CV Is Sore

I don’t know about you folks, but I am an achy mass after this weekend, and loving it.

Summer CV now has a standing reservation at Big Daddy’s Diner for the next four weeks until school gets back in swing. Come by this evening, and enjoy a little mournful celebration—it’s August already!

Reminder: Floating World registration closes in 2 days

A while ago Tyler posted about The Floating World. That was back in June, and things have come a long way for The Floating World since then, including the registration deadline! Floating World registration closes on August 5^th, which is this Sunday, and there will be no opportunities to buy tickets after this weekend, not even at the door! If you want to attend, you must buy tickets now.

If you’re still on the fence about it, check out the incredible list of classes and presenters, or the awesome playspace that will be available. And best of all, thanks to CV’s participation as a sponsoring organization, CV members can register for a slightly discounted rate! But only ’til Sunday!

Tyler said she’ll be at the Dog and Pony show. I’ll probably spend a chunk of my time tied up in some dungeon corner somewhere, hopefully getting marks that’ll last. What do you want to do? ;)

Floating World

CV is going to Jersey this summer. Join us, if you can, at Floating World at the end of this summer. CV members will be presenting, participating and otherwise perusing the convention center at what is sure to be the most talked about event of the year. The organizers advertise it as the largest play space in the Northeast. By registering as a member of CV, there is a slight discount, though volunteering is the cheapest way to attend. Contact us, or the organizers of Floating World if you have any questions. Let us know if you are attending so that we can all make sure to find each other. Hope to see you there!
