9:15 PMto11:15 PM

It’s been quite a year and CV’s been through some wonderful changes. We’ve heard some never-before held talks by some of the most interesting, intelligent and unique kinky people on the scene. We’ve made new toys, learned new skills and made some fabulous new kinky friends. If you haven’t been able to make it to many meetings this year or semester, now is your last chance.

Say farewell to Spring 2007 with your pals at CV in the most amusing way we know how: kinky show and tell! Tell a fascinating little something about yourself that no one knows, or bring a kinky trinket to spark some imaginations. Whatever you can dream or dig up. If you can’t think of anything, just bring yourself.

See you all there!

*We will also be unveiling the winner of the Logo contest.

8:00 PMto10:00 PM

Morning Event:

Come one, come all to the sexiest fair on campus. Join us for Sexhibition (link now defunct), a consent-based sex-positive fair featuring loads of goodies including workshops, breast cupcakes, penis cookies, games and prizes. By attending the fair, you may enter a free raffle to win sex toys given out at our evening event! The fair will take place on Barnard’s Lehman Lawn or in Lower Level McIntosh in case of rain.

After the fair, please join the coordinators of Sexhibition at 8:00 PM in Sulzberger Parlor for a talk by award-winning author, columnist, editor and sex educator Tristan Taormino (if you were at the puppy play talk, you may remember hearing Tyler’s praises for her).

Evening event: The Path to Sexual Empowerment

What is sexual empowerment? What does it mean to be sexually empowered? Tristan Taormino reveals the pleasures and pitfalls of her journey from law school reject to sex expert—with stops along the way as editor, author, anal sex guru, Village Voice columnist, sex-positive event producer, and feminist pornographer. She’ll explore the concept of erotic power, discuss why it is important, and share her unique recipe for how everyone can become sexually empowered.

If you enjoyed Princess Wendy’s demo last semester on Thug and Bully role-playing you might enjoy what we have planned for next week. Jason will be conducting a workshop/demo on questioning, pressuring and torturing sassy school girls. We have many other important announcements for this meeting as well, which shouldn’t take too long, but you should be sure not to miss.

CV Elections: How are we doing?

Published on April 9, 2007 at 10:30 PM by Tyler, Pres. of Vice | Filed under CV Announcements | No Comments

As many of you know, CV has undergone many changes this year. Increased media attention, changes in administration, an increase of overall campus interest, an increase in alumnus involvement and of course this new site, have opened up many arenas for improvement.

If you are reading this, you probably agree that CV holds an important place on campus as well as in the NYC BDSM scene. Just a quick google search of Conversio Virium will yield equal numbers of postings by well-wishers as well as condemners from all over the nation. This is just one testament to the power that one university club can have in the world, and this could only be possible through the flow of communication between current and former members of CV, its steering community and the university at large. I strongly believe that the new format of this site opens up more opportunities for the members of CV to have their voices heard on issues that we feel strongly about.

On that note, I would like to open the floor here. What do you like about CV at its present moment? What don’t you like? What do you think needs improvement? What would you like to see more/less of? This community exists because we create it. It is up to everyone to create the community we each dream of.

This thread is meant to allow for discussion of potential meeting topics, changes to the club’s constitution, the creation of committees for special events. This thread can also be used to nominate oneself or others for positions CV is in need of filling or re-electing. If you would like more information about these positions, please comment here, and read CV’s constitution and by-laws.

Please join us for a workshop with Jeff on the Art of Humiliation.

Also, if you are due for a membership card (read our membership guidelines here or talk to Tyler), make sure you come and sign your form as it will probably be the last time this semester that Tyler will be making cards. Hope to see you all there!

Everyone Allied Against Homophobia (EAAH) is having a panel on polyamory. This is not a CV event, but I thought that many of you might be interested.

It will be held at the Intercultural Resource Center, which is located at 552 West 114th St.

I do not know if non-CU students will be able to attend, but I will post when I do. It looks to be a valuable experience. Here is the text from their announcement:

“Forms of Love: A panel discussion on polyamory

Polyamory is defined as, “the practice, state or ability of having more than one sexual loving relationship at the same time, with the full knowledge and consent of all partners involved.” Panelists will discuss their experiences in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships dealing with jealousy, negotiating boundaries, managing time, and the process of “coming out.”

Food will be served”
