No I agree with you May, linking is sufficient. I made some all around changes. Just stretching my legs here and seeing what works and what doesn't. Your comments are all helpful.

And of course, if people want to air their grievances about articles like this among friends, this is a good place to do it.

To be honest, I sort of liked this article and wouldn't mind keeping a large block quotation for posterity. My main complaint was that it named presenters and didn't keep its facts straight (for example: cat-o'-nine-tails? WTF.) It goes without saying that Feiden is biased and unprofessional but he made us look pretty good. I'd love to attend a club where "the squeals of delight mingled with the occasional yelps of pain" (as long as they follow some variant of the SSC). Feiden's quote from Princess Wendy was especially nice: "I like to hurt people, I don't like to send them to the hospital." Throughout the article, we're presented as kinda fun and kinda sketchy but ultimately conscientious.

I hear ya, Hannah. Part of what makes an article a "big deal" is how we react to it. That said, while I do think it is not a bad thing for CV to get press of pretty much any variety, I would rather be cautious about publishing the stories other people write elsewhere again over here. Ultimately, however, it's not my call. :)

Hmm. While I can certainly appreciate the desire for keeping things for posterity, I'm not sure how I feel about reposting an article that is so deliberately a smear campaign against CV on CV's own web site. Additionally, though I have no legal understanding of the matter, are article reposts in their entirety legal? I'm sure that block quotations are okay, I just remember feeling hesitant about directly copy-and=pasteing things like this.

Why not quote a section of the article, and instead just link to the rest of it elsewhere? This is one of those things that is simply never going to go away, regardless of which organization stores a copy of the content. Y'know...?
